There were two occasions when a dog could have bitten me. Both were pet dogs. In one a German Shephard had got loose, and had bitten several people before I came on the road. He jumped on me with his paws on my shoulders, aggressively barking in my face. Standing still I kept saying 'good dog, sweet dog' in a soft voice. He put his paws down and left. There was a large audience watching, and they were all surprised. He even then went quietly back to his handler, who put him back on the leash. One has to know the best way to interact with dogs.
