Absolutely. GoDaddy is working on a new GoValue update that will replace the current snapshot. Once available, we'll replace this.

And for anyone wondering, I've basically put all domains that holds ALL of the following true in the $499 experiment: Under 10 EMD, GoValue list Under $10000, Sale_Probability_500 under 15%. To me, the GoValue list is better at spotting domains with high potential than GoValue. I think I might go lower on the EMD threshold but higher on the SP_500 eventually. Just a gut-feeling.

The whole point of a decent appraisal is to have a decent starting point in negotiations. There are still plenty of people who believe seven figure names are worth only five figures, thanks in no small part to crap appraisals via GoDaddy’s GoValue.

Their AI is still fairly crappy. It only raises the appraisal if there have been offers. Otherwise, it appraises in the same neighborhood as GoValue (which is worthless).

@GoDaddy cannot get any crazier than this. The top line of the image below is GoDaddy's AI "Suggested Pricing" for our Wednesday.com. IMO, it's accurate. However, below it is their GoValue appraisal, which is what the PUBLIC sees. This is self-sabotage of the highest order. Shout out to @DomainOrca for spotlighting it. @afternic

Exactly. The good news is that GoDaddy is rectifying the problem. You will be seeing GoValue appraisals from $100 up to seven-figures. It will completely revolutionize the market as we know it.

Because unpriced domains get lowball valuations via the GoDaddy GoValue maxing out at $25k. 🙄

GoValue caps all appraisals at 25K because they show no sale higher than 25K in their sales comps. In other words, according to GoValue, the @DNJournal YTD Top 100 sales never happened. Furthermore, they do the same to smaller names by appraising 5K names for less than 1K.

I appreciate the effort. Since GoValue is not a part of your core product and value proposition, why don't you remove it until you fix it? I don't know about everyday GoDaddy users, but aftermarket sellers and buyers won't miss anything about it.

As domain investor advocates at GoDaddy, myself and a number of others are using feedback to actively engage the right people to fully revamp GoValue. So — the feedback, as ever, on this is welcome and will influence our conversations. I don’t have a timeline but we are making progress. One thing that I will review today with the Afternic team is the specifics of the UI (the screenshot you share is from within the seller UI at Afternic). I’ll also DM you.

The GoDaddy staff I met at NamesCon in Miami were fantastic. The fact that they have to work under this ridiculous system is beyond the pale. The GoDaddy GoValue (DeValue) appraisal system is costing all parties a fortune, but I couldn't determine who was keeping it in place.

Yes, excellent article. Besides the fact that a broken appraisal system like GoDaddy's GoValue can do tremendous damage to the Premium market by capping all appraisals at 25K, my favorite metric is the opinion of top brokers like Andrew Miller, Andrew Rosener and Larry Fischer.
