Arizona Forestry stages two task forces of engines in central & southern AZ to provide for IA response as activity picks up. 🚒The agency tapped into the Great Plains Interstate Compact for one of the TFs. That TF - out of Utah is in Arizona & staged at the department's Tucson office. 🚒The other TF - made up of local cooperators is stationed at Arizona Forestry's Phoenix-area station. Both TFs will provide for IA response w/n their areas & across the state should conditions warrant. Last year, @GovernorHobbs signed HB 2751 into effect allowing Arizona to enter into the Great Plains Interstate Compact. Now Arizona Forestry can bypass the federal wildland resource ordering system & go direct with states in the compact for equipment & overhead needs. Compact states inc. Greer Fire Update for Monday, May 19th, 2025: The fire is 20,425 acres and is now at 38% containment. 736 personnel are assigned to the fire. An extensive amount of work has been completed on all divisions of the fire since Tuesday.
