The extended polygynist part of the family just stayed together until they died out. They were sent down to settle the same part of Arizona where the Udalls lived. My ggg grandfather died in Springerville in 1886. His original wife was already dead. His 2nd wife outlived both.
If you make it again, try to get down to tombstone & Bisbee, super cool small towns. Big lake is gorgeous, ShowLow and Pinetop have some good local eateries

I always thought it was interesting that Commodore Perry Owens had some involvement in that conflict and also Tombstone considering his department found Ike Clanton outside of Springerville and killed him.
There are many groups in AZ trying to fight these wind farms. Thankfully your dad has received attention from some people in the administration. Letβs pray his journey helps the community of Springerville too.
Following a winter hiatus, two paving projects along US 60 between Show Low and Springerville are starting back up again this week π§
The projects will require lane restrictions. Both are expected to be completed by late summer 2026.

The mismanagement of our forests is criminal. Years of aggressive fire fighting with no effort to clear dead fall only makes fires even worse when they do happen. Saw it first hand in the Show Low-Pinetop, and Springerville areas. Mt Lemmon is another.
