I was thinking maybe you got it mixed up with the armament of CSS Acadia...but nope she had a 4".
Random sidenote: Acadia in terms of heavy guns, she outgunned Sackville, having a 4" AND a 3" gun... that's a bit surprising (Acadia lacked all the quick firing smaller guns tho)

It's hard to say. Sackville's status as Canada's Navy Memorial gives her a unique status. Parks Canada, which I believe owns and operates Haida might not want her status changed. I'd have to know all the details, especially financial, that come into play.

HMCS Sackville, the last-surviving Flower-class corvette of the Second World War, will soon be formally recommissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN).

Good article Ian, more people should visit them both! It would help to cure the maritime blindness that you mention! While in Halifax they can also visit the Naval Museum at Stadacona.

I'm about 8 days late for this 3 year anniversary (I knew it was August, forgot the dates) of when I met @Drachinifel & @ACNavalHistory aboard @HMCSHAIDA haven't missed a non-Drydock video by Drachinifel since. And getting caught up on some of his older ones. Hope to meet again
