Congratulations to Mamdani on his win…
Truly. Every rise has its reason, and sometimes the universe lets people get exactly what they asked for—just so they can learn what they didn’t understand.
Life has a funny way of teaching lessons the easy way or the hard way, and lately, we’ve all been signing up for the hard way. Most of the people celebrating today are too young to remember 9/11, or the fear and chaos that came after. They’ve never seen how quickly “change” can turn into control, or how easily promises can fade once the cheering stops. But history, much like a stubborn child, doesn’t listen—it repeats.
It reminds me of a parable:
A farmer’s son begged his father to let him drive the tractor. The father said no—he wasn’t ready. But the boy insisted, certain he could handle it. Finally, the father handed him the keys and watched as the boy tore through the field, ruining half the crop. The boy wept, certain his father would be furious. Instead, the father simply said, “Now you understand why I told you to wait.” Some lessons can’t be taught—they have to be lived.
So yes, congratulations, Mamdani. Sometimes the only way for people to grow is to let them steer the tractor straight through the cornfield. My prayer is for those with common sense—the ones who see the storm coming but still have to ride it out. May they come through untouched, wiser, and ready to rebuild when the dust finally settles.
And to the rest—well, enjoy the ride. Just remember, when the wheels fall off and you’re standing in the middle of a plowed-up mess… you were the ones who handed him the keys.
