No need for a door opening. If you have frequency control, if you can alter the local electromagnetic field, if you can create a toroidal bubble around a specific point, you can enter and exit without using normal physical mechanisms. A dissident civilization, yes. But dissident relative to the public. Not necessarily dissident relative to the real power. They may be hiding advanced technology from the public. Ships, portals, frequency systems, advanced medicine, energy, off-world transit. None of this is hidden due to lack of capability. It is hidden for control. If the population knew that real technology already far exceeds the official terrestrial model, the entire theater would collapse. Rockets. Fuel. Borders. Economy. Disease. Scarcity. It would collapse too easily. There is also another layer that interests me. The appearance in Strieber’s cabin does not look like open contact. It looks like an operation. They enter, immobilize, do something, leave. No explanation. No clear dialogue. No pedagogy. That looks more like technical intervention than spiritual encounter. Advanced humans? Possibly. Non-humans using human appearance? Also possible. Operators from a nearby base via portal? Also possible. Perceptual control technology so the subject remembers only fragments? Even more likely. There is interaction with the environment. I find it hard to see this as a simple mental experience. Reality here is not divided between physical and interdimensional as separate boxes.
