What an intense and inspiring week in Romania 🇷🇴 It began with Endeavor’s Family Office Gathering, exploring the state of funding, private equity, and long-term investment strategies. Huge thanks to the Endeavor team for the invitation and to Florin V. (London Business School) for such sharp insights on how capital can fuel purpose …not just profit. Then came How to Web, where I joined Bogdan Iordache (Underline Ventures), Raya Yunakova (LAUNCHub Ventures), and Marius Istrate (TechAngels Romania) for a deep discussion on Europe’s blockers and opportunities inspired, fittingly, by a few thoughtful walks in the park with Bogdan. I shared my view that rebuilding Europe requires courage, coordination, and culture: • Courage to take long-term risks. • Coordination between policy, research, and startups. • Culture to make innovation human again. “Europe doesn’t need to compete on speed ..it needs to compete on depth: on meaning, trust, and sustainable innovation.” “We must turn foresight into insight, imagination into infrastructure, and research into companies that last.” Europe’s strength lies in its diversity ..in our creative industries, research labs, and values-driven entrepreneurship but we need better bridges between them. Thank you to Bogdan Iordache, Underline Ventures, and the entire How to Web team for an unforgettable event, and to all the startups, investors, and thinkers I met for such insightful conversations. Special thanks to Sanja Mitrovska (The Founder Games) for bringing the Balkans’ unstoppable energy, and to my cousin Teofil Ghiurău and Bogdan Mariniuc (A-Space) for connecting visionary minds across borders. Grateful to my hometown friends from Make IT in Oradea, David Achim, and rising star Darian Domocoș …a founder who’s on everyone’s radar. Great insights as well from so many UiPath alumni, and the latest reflections on the future of design AI from Ioana Teleanu. Now heading to Brașov for Tech Connect, joining Ionuț Țața, Cecilia MoSze Tham, and the Iceberg team to explore “Building the future as a possible world ..algorithmically, visually, and ethically.” Because future design isn’t fiction, it’s social infrastructure. First-time founders have it the worst! You don't know what you don't know and even the things you think you know you don't really know as you haven't done them before. My advise to first-time founders from an ex first-time founder myself is: 1. DON"T TRUST YOUR GUT too much. Or rather, trust it, but verify all the time. 2. Don't talk to customers. Listen. 3. Don't try to find an excuse for the existence of the product you dreamed in your head. Pivot based on the feedback you get. 4. And most of all - STAY POSITIVE and CONFIDENT. 90% of your early success is your personality, your will, your hustle. Use it to your advantage over the disillusioned repeat founders. It was a blast visiting @how_to_web 🇷🇴again - definitely the best tech conference in Central and Eastern Europe, by far! Great work @alexagatinei and all the organizers! Second day of the #HowToWeb conferece and tens of meetings with founders and investors, we learned many things but one in particular has become clearer than ever: Mass #Web3 adoption will happen when we, the blockchain builders, will create the infrastructure for the implementation of blockchain into real-word, everyday problems and processes.
