I adore posts like this because the "Free Sudan" and "Free Congo" are so obviously shoehorned in there to deflect the (correct) criticism that these people hyperfocus on Palestine while ignoring every other conflict happening in the world.

Uhuh I could say "I don't understand the critique." Or... I don't understand what is being critiqued. Both are true; the latter is more precise. Anyway, I don't separate them; first, I explicitly root National Socialism is an ideology concretely established in certain works, per the reading list. And in the main part of that chapter, I explicitly acknowledge the hypothetical of someone having a *wrong* understanding of National Socialism (which may yet spare them some guilt if its true form teaches heretical/evil things, except for the intellectual guilt of being wrong there). So this critique has to ignore what I actually say and hyperfocus on my pointing out of the real moral situation of people having different understandings of it, and of choosing to note adjudicate the issue itself.

the cliff is the part nobody warns you about. hyperfocus has an on ramp and no exit, so you dont stop when the thing is done, you stop when you crash into something. the wind up feels like a superpower, the missing brakes are the real story.

the 43 deletes are not the waste, they are how the brain finds the 4. hyperfocus floods instead of aiming, so you mass produce past the bad ideas to reach the good one. the collapse after is just the bill for an engine with no idle gear.

School-based mental health interventions that prioritize & hyperfocus on emotions & feelings has been a disaster for young people. They are reverse-CBT. SEL must be abolished along with similar programs.
Universal mental-health screening in K-12 produces up to 90% false positives. A 19-year RCT on school-based mental-health services found zero gains in test scores or attendance. Just more kids funneled into treatment, with no way to tell whether they needed it. Kids in real emotional distress need real clinical support. But universal programs do the opposite. They spread resources thin, divert attention from the few in genuine crisis, medicalize ordinary distress, and convince healthy kids they're sick. So why did the House Appropriations Committee just vote to lock ~70% of the federal "Safe Schools" fundโ€”built for physical security, violence prevention, and emergency preparednessโ€”into mental-health grants with this track record? Congress should shut this down. Schools will never be equipped or accountable for clinical work. Stop treating them like mental-health clinics. @ManhattanInst fellow @CarolynGorman_ in @CityJournal city-journal.org/article/schโ€ฆ

Hyperfocus isnโ€™t an accident. Itโ€™s your superpower trying to find a worthy target. You can spend six hours lost in one frame of an idea because you feel the texture of it - the emotional pulse under the surface. Thatโ€™s not obsession. Thatโ€™s precision. The problem isnโ€™t your focus. Itโ€™s what the world told you was worth focusing on.๏ฟผ
