Scholars and Officers of IRI, IIUI Host Farewell Dinner in Honor of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq
The scholars and officers of the Islamic Research Institute (IRI), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), hosted a farewell dinner in honor of the institute’s former Director General, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, currently Vice Chancellor of the University of Narowal. Participants paid tribute to his contributions to IRI, including the promotion of Paigham-e-Pakistan, revival of the Sirah Centre, introduction of the postdoctoral fellowship programme, infrastructure development, and strengthening of the institute’s academic and research profile. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq thanked the IRI community for the gesture and reaffirmed his continued support for the institute and its leadership.

IIUI Mourns Demise of Somali Student
The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) is deeply saddened by the demise of Mr. Abdullahi Farah, a Somali student of the Department of International Relations, who passed away after a period of illness.
The funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janazah) was scheduled to be offered on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, at Jamia Masjid Usman-e-Ghani, G-10/1, Islamabad.
On behalf of the university community, President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, along with the Vice Presidents, deans, faculty members, officers, staff, and students, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
The IIUI community stands in solidarity with the family, friends, and fellow students of the deceased during this time of grief and sorrow. May Allah Almighty grant him His boundless mercy, forgive his shortcomings, elevate his ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and bless his family with patience and strength. Ameen.

IRI Holds Retreat for Scholars, Officers, and Staff
The Islamic Research Institute (IRI), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized a retreat for its scholars, officers, and staff at Ayubia National Park and other locations in the Galiyat region. The programme provided an opportunity for participants to engage in outdoor activities, strengthen professional bonds, and promote institutional cohesion through informal interaction and team-building activities. The Institute of Professional Development (IPD), IIUI, has launched LEDTECH 2026 (Leadership Excellence & Development through Technology Integration), a five-day professional development workshop aimed at equipping school leaders with the skills to drive digital transformation in education. Bringing together principals, vice principals and aspiring leaders, the program focuses on AI-enabled teaching, smart school management, digital governance, cyber safety and data-driven leadership to create meaningful and measurable improvements in schools.

IIUI Faculty of Shariah and Law Holds Foundational Course in Usul al-Fiqh for Postgraduate Students
The Department of Shariah, Faculty of Shariah and Law, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), successfully organized its first foundational course in Usul al-Fiqh for postgraduate students.
The course was delivered by Prof. Dr. Raed bin Khalaf Al-Osaimi, Dean of the Faculty of Shariah and Law, who provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and methodologies of Islamic jurisprudence. The initiative aimed to enhance the academic and research capabilities of postgraduate students and strengthen their engagement with advanced juristic studies.
The program attracted a diverse group of Master's and PhD students representing various faculties and nationalities, creating an enriching environment for scholarly dialogue, intellectual exchange, and interdisciplinary learning.
Speaking on the significance of the initiative, the organizers highlighted the importance of grounding postgraduate students in the theoretical foundations of Islamic legal thought to support quality research and academic excellence.

Orientation on Mandatory Internship Programme Held for BS English Students
The Department of English, Faculty of Languages and Literature, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized an orientation session for BS English (4th Semester) students on the Mandatory Internship Programme. IIUI Holds Concurrent Hadith Memorization Competition Award Ceremonies at Male and Female Campuses
The Faculty of Usuluddin (Islamic Studies), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized award ceremonies for the winners of the Hadith Memorization Competition at the Imam Abu Hanifa block Auditorium, Male Campus, and the Fatima-tuz-Zahra block Auditorium, Female Campus. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President IIUI, attended as chief guest and distributed certificates of appreciation and cash prizes among the successful participants. Faculty members, academic leaders, and a large number of students attended the ceremonies.
Addressing the gatherings, the President highlighted the importance of strengthening students’ connection with the Holy Quran and Sunnah and appreciated the efforts of the Faculty of Usuluddin in promoting Islamic scholarship. During interactive sessions, he also awarded cash prizes to students who correctly answered questions related to Islamic teachings and the Holy Quran.
