I believe this year is what would be theyr 40th year of being active with all original lineup members. It breaks my heart that Morten Harkets parkinson syndrome diagnosis put a stop for anything musically coming from them in the future. Unless they manage to tweak it so that his medication doesnt affect his voice that much (when he doesnt take his medication,his voice works fine,but then his body reacts negatively) Living legends at the likes of ZZ-Top,where only sickness or original members passing put a stop to theyr impressive careers. And some actually say that A-ha are 1 hit wonders..... 🤔 If these guys started out in the US,they would have been worshipped today,because of theyr impressive amount of hits,even the guyses solo work is brilliant. Paul and his American wife Lauren is still active with theyr side-band Savoy though (Paul decided to name theyr band after his wifes family name,if thats not true love,i dont know) They also got a young grown son doing music on YT (True August Waaktaar-Savoy) You will find him under his artist name True August. So there are still some active music being made from the members,just not united as A-ha. Morten also feels like he doesnt get taken serious enough by his own band members,theyr manager says. Its from a gossip magazine,so i dont know how true this is,he conversated through SMS messages with a gossiping magazine,i dont know.... But he says there is an icefront now between the 3,as Morten just wants to be appreciated more and taken serious for what he contributed with in the band. And this song of theyrs seems to be the root to the problem. Morten claims he did changes to parts of the song,that made it into the monster hit it is today,constantly breaking records daily for how many views any artist from Norway has achieved through theyr music videos. WHat makes me doubt the realness of the gossiping news of an icefront,is that Mags seems very supportive and reassuring of Morten still. Morten wanted them to just continue without him,he gave them the blessing to just go on ahead without him. (I think that was Morten also being abit depressed,giving up on any future stuff with A-ha as he doesnt feel like singing,because of what he has) Mags told him that there was no chance of that happening,it was a clear NO. What they had,what they made,what they achieved,they had/made and achieved together! And unless he felt good enough to sing again,there was no way they would continue with A-ha. So me personally,i dont think there is a total icefront there. It might be some feelings of certain stuff,for sure,but it seems like the other 2 are just devastated on Mortens behalf. But at the same time very supportive and reassuring.
