Up on your Elder Abuse Acronyms? I had to look up this one -- I'm not among those who normally use the term (Clinicians, policymakers, etc.). #EASN. For EASN there of course must be an EASN Intervention. And "APS lacks a conceptually derived, evidence-based intervention." [[Enter RISE]] All authors seem involved with promoting RISE, but are just reporting on a sort of nice, neutral stance of "what is." This is describing (it seems) how APS works in the USA, but the Terms & Condition ("T&C") at risecollaborative.org/terms-… are (scroll down) clear that its JURISDICTION isn't in the USA. It's also clear (if you regularly read T&Cs) that at the top where #IDentifytheEntity should be, like in the first paragraph, it just isn't there. Probably because such entity was a late-comer on filing for tax-exemption USA, as I've posted elsehwere. Any gap in services (as defined by those who already have a service model to plug the gap) is a problem they are just responsing to. Sure... pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article…. If you've been paying attention, notice the authors. Compare, from: risecollaborative.org/team/ (not on this list: Patricia F. Kimball, but see any of the various (late-filed, USA) EAIME.org (no financials posted, but it does cough up a fine-print EIN# in an odd place on the website) IRS tax returns for her signature. See replies to replies to replies on a @protectParents thread mentioning #motivationalInterviewing. I made the "fatal" (personal time-wise) mistake of first asking for a link the the attachment, then going to look for myself. Now I'm just looking for a stopping point. Perhaps here. At least now I know what EASN stands for. And was reminded that WHO has declared 2021- 2030 the "Decade of Healthy Ageing". THis article also cites (footnotes) "World Elder Abuse Awareness Day" (WEAAD) which I only noticed a day or two ago. It's tiresome, aging and trying to keep up with what the authorities in two or more countries have determined should be done with my kind, especially when APS isn't involved but MIGHT be in the future (which the RISE Model seeks to find and pre-emptively intervene with).

6/ I think from here on I’m just going to show the BuzzFeed Inc (Entity lookup) screenshots and deal with the article contents later. I need a break.. So the emphasis of this thread is “GOOD GRIEF, JUST START LOOKING AT THESE PARTS OF ANY WEBSITE: #IdentifyTheEntity. (I DNR if I’ve used that # before, but if I haven’t (might have used it in the plural),I should’ve. You have to want to know specific kinds of information and start looking at it to understand, I believe, how important it is to understanding the world we are operating in, off-line and on-line. Well, really only 3 more to show there. Anyone can go to the “About Us” and read it (also recommended) but I’m showing you that in (Images 2 & 3 here), most news organizations will show you their sections, features, and advertising-related items. Not “Our Financials” (If public-traded, maybe an “investor relations”link or such). The first images shows you. Other companies it (or a related entity) is also in. #TermsOfUse (“TOU”) and “UserAgreemts” are good places to look, parts of the window frame of any website which will show more about the “what” behind all the “About Us” and “We are” — including whether or not the word “We” is accurate. Most times, it’s not if ANY entity is involved.

#Devex (“Devex” is a dba of DevelopmentEx.com, Incorporated, a Delaware, USA, Corporation). <<~~That suffix also tells you it’s not an LLC. In that format, it could be for-profit or not-for-profit (Tax-exempt), but if an “LLC” It cannot be not-for-profit. So, look for the suffixes in full, legal, registered business names. Misc. & also FYI, #EntityAwareness #LegalDomicilesUSA #DBAawareness #IdentifyTheEntity. Only reason I grabbed a screenshot and mentioning it here. ALWAYS good to know. Often found under “Terms & Conditions” or here, “User Agreement”(but bottom of the page fine-print link). One place you’re least likely to find the full, accurate information of this type is under “About Us” or “About” links — although some (if a 501(c)3 in the USA, which is an IRS tax-exempt designation and not the only one) it may say so. I can’t keep up with all the Devex news, but I do browse the headlines. To read the rest of this one (which I otherwise would’ve done by now) requires registering for a free (except that it gives SOMEONE my personal data & no doubt email address) account, which I haven’t done yet. I might later.

2/ Wed USA #OpenGovtPartnership thread Since the 2022 post keeps coming up, I looked (again) at Hiil.org and the forum and started exploring. The OpenGovernmentPartnership (“OGP” for this thread) logo reminded me of (though it’s not the same group, perhaps similar concepts) #OpenSocietyFndtns (which either is or uses a d/b/a OpenSocietyInstitute, I forget which just now). For now, I just have a question or two. To viewers (not these projects or their sponsors). The same principles apply to looking into advocates, or when reading articles quoting them. #IDentifyTheEntity (which means, identify also its legal domicile and type of organization) (FIRST) to #FindTheFunding, if you want to understand more than a) what it (or its partners, strategic or funding) say about it, or b) what it’s doing, and probably why. I have about three screenshots, will do them full-size. So let’s start here: IF you saw THIS pretty green cover and title….”The Future of Open Government” and subtitle, on “OGP’s 2023-2028 strategy and how the open government community** can help implement it…” “READ MORE…”.
