Project Galactica: Integrating FHE Technology from @zama_fhe to Revolutionize Web3 IdentityProject Galactica is an omni-chain protocol built over the past three years to create an identity stack for Web3. It is designed to bring meaning and utility to Web3 identity primitives, similar to how DeFi has done with financial capital. Galactica focuses on creating durable digital “souls” – representations of actual people on the blockchain – to support the next big use cases in Web3, such as accumulating data from Web2 and Web3 into Cypher Books (digital passports), enabling secure storage, selective disclosure, and reputation-based services. Galactica's Core Goals and FeaturesThe core goal of Galactica is to build an Identity Virtual Machine (IVM), which enables computation on encrypted data to prove identity or reputation without revealing personal information. The project emphasizes data sovereignty, where users retain control of personal information and privacy. Notable features include:Cypher Book (Passport): A data repository from Web2 and Web3 sources, supporting secure data transfer. zkCertificates: Private data silos using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) to encrypt, store, and selectively disclose data from off-chain or cross-chain. H-score: Private on-chain metric that combines Sybil resistance and transaction activity to ensure rewards, airdrops, and campaigns target real users. The project has achieved milestones such as Citizenship NFTs, Soulbound Tokens, and reputation-based rewards, laying the foundation for user-led governance and Universal Basic Income in Cypher State. Integrating FHE Technology from ZamaGalactica works closely with Zama – an open-source cryptography company specializing in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) – to enhance privacy in identity systems. FHE enables computations on encrypted data without decryption, protecting against tracking and data leakage. Specifically: FHE is integrated via fhEVM (Fully Homomorphic Encryption Virtual Machine) and combined with ZKPs such as zk-SNARKs and zkKYC to process encrypted data on-chain. In the Reputation Root Contract, FHE from Zama computes a dynamic reputation function on encrypted data in the Cypher Book, allowing dApps to differentiate services based on reputation while keeping data confidential. GuardianNodes supports data verification and integration across on-chain, cross-chain and off-chain, reducing the computational burden by delegating it to professional validators. This collaboration includes not only research and development but also investment, aiming to build private identity and sovereign data marketplaces at the protocol level. Zama is a key partner in the Galactica ecosystem, helping unlock use cases such as training Large Language Models (LLM) on encrypted data, reputation-enhanced DeFi and SocialFi (RADeFi), SoulDrops (reputation-based airdrops), dynamic launchpads, new credit derivatives, and the integration of TradiFi assets into DeFi. Recent and Future DevelopmentsOn October 3, 2025, Galactica held its Token Generation Event (TGE), marking the transition from roadmap to reality, with a focus on expanding applications in finance, governance, and advertising. The project has integrated zkKYC with SwissBorg, developed Telegram passports with Blum for over 900 million potential users, and partnered with Syntetika for zkKYC-based structured finance products.
