This is such a fascinating and frustrating paradox. It beautifully illustrates how simply 'changing the rules' or even the economic realities doesn't automatically erase the complex, often unexamined, layers of human nature and societal inertia.
My work diagnoses how the 10 Revolutions, cumulatively, have profoundly destabilized the traditional family unit, shattering older roles without providing genuinely stable, new frameworks. The Sexual Revolution, in particular, driven by an Unconstrained Vision to dismantle all 'constraints' on gender and family structures, promised liberation and perfect equality. Yet, as this data shows, it often leaves us with a profound Societal Injury: immense psychological strain and resentment, because simply declaring "roles should be divided by equity" doesn't account for the deeper currents of evolved human preferences, the emotional economy of relationships, or the subtle ways new forms of imbalance emerge.
We've abandoned older structures without truly understanding what we were designing for in terms of human flourishing within the family. We need a Constrained Vision for family life that acknowledges both the desire for fairness and the complex realities of human psychology and stable partnership, rather than just imposing abstract ideals.
