I’d look at the images first. With jpg, you can often reduce the quality without any noticeable visual effect. And there are tools, I use ImageOptimize on Mac, that can reduce image file size without changing resolution.
Jpeg compress compresses JPEG, GIF, and PNG images using lossy compression. You may upload up to 20 images at once.
