Yeah there's an entire group of doctors and hospital employees who sit around and decide what happens and what doesn't. Was even told don't take your hearing aids otherwise they will think you are "too well to do" for a Disability certificate and don't need the benefits.

You're lucky and privileged that you can afford it. Most can't and the officialdom seldom helps...they have their programs but it's difficult for most to negotiate the maze of govt process. Eg getting a handicapped card from @RailMinIndia and actually getting a berth reservation.

The 1.5lac tax exemption i het is very less compared to the huge amt of money i spend on multiple things like aids equipments, medicines, travel, doctors and specialists, which I bear because of the cost associated to my disability. Iwish i had more benefits
