Huge shout out to Tommy who’s retiring today. He’s been providing security for the closed #InnocentPath and has had to put up with a lot of stressed cyclists as no safe alternative route has been provided by HES and the Council. Lovely bloke!

Infuriated by this. No lessons learned from last time, no signed diversion in place, and no protected infra for cyclists on very busy roads with HGVs. Bloke in the car is ‘security’ to stop folk going through. #InnocentPath closed - again.

#InnocentPath. Pic taken during the day - normally lovely then (although motorbikes). At night it’s well lit but isolated and lonely, long sections with no escape routes. Regular antisocial behaviour. No on-road alternative with protected cycle lanes. Key route to city centre.

It’s not a police light officer, honestly! All the way up the isolated #InnocentPath and only met one person. The path has no escape routes or any natural surveillance. No traffic tho! #16DaysofActivism #LightUpTheNight

Here’s the info on #InnocentPath diversion. Has anyone tried it out? Does anyone know if it cuts through on the quieter roads via Prestonfield Rd?

So many people said they’d never dare ride the route (Dalkeith Rd, Cameron Toll, Peffermill, Duddingston Rd West) on their own (suggested diversion by Council for #InnocentPath) - but in a large group it was lovely. No close-passing, no being cut off at junctions - just joy 😀

#Glass on #InnocentPath between Duddingston Rd West & back of Bingham many days since mid-March. Despite sweeping (including by cyclists) more keeps appearing. Also a log placed one day. Seems deliberate 🚲deterrent. @CyclingEdin @MaureenChild1 @MaryGreens @KateC_SNP @CLaidlaw
