It's easier to write in Devanagri, try using Google transliteration keyboard or inputtools.

google.co.in/inputtools/try/ You need to select the language as Hindi. I use this for Sanskrit also. The google keyboard also works decently. For Apple users the web interface inputtools is the only viable option.
