Lessons from reading 500 research papers:
1. Citations matter.
2. Some companies (ahem, Meta) write even if they haven't found anything useful.
3. Some companies (...OpenAI, Amazon) write papers to market their products.
4. Few companies (Google, Deepseek), almost always have useful research to present.
5. Books, podcasts, tutorials...nothing compares to the information density of a research paper.
I am not getting paid to promote any company or their research (although it looks like it in the last few posts :p).
