I’m observing all the sneering artcel commentary around this; it absolutely comes from a place of dismissing the public’s as apparently uninformed—framing them as subjects unable to parse context included, despite there being nothing to indicate that: they are mocking the trite commentary his work engendered (which happens to be the most brutal criticism of his work), people jeep saying “wow they don’t realize its art” smugly signalling their familiarity with Denny, when that would not change their comments at all.
