This morning's sunrise brings yet another welcome to electoral politics. Not the first time I've perused election results, shaken my head, and wished I'd "Irished up" my morning coffee.

Coming up soon are Precinct and County/SD conventions. This is the grassroots, ground up, from The People chance to draft, introduce, and pass resolutions forming the RPT platform. If you can afford the time, energy, and money to get to Houston this June, do your best to become a delegate to the state convention. The days before the main show are the important ones. Few attend but that's where the sausage gets made and you can influence it.
Though not formally in session until next January, the 90th session of the TxLege started the day the 89th ended. Want to see a law passed, repealed, or amended? Now is the time to start talking with your State Representative. Get your account set up on TLO and be ready to start tracking bills and getting alerts for hearings so you can testify at committee hearings. Come to the Capitol and watch a few floor sessions.
Not too thrilled with the candidate choices in some races? Help find and fund better ones. Sad because your candidate lost? Learn from mistakes, correct them, and help them do better next time.
