When you affix a negative label to someone of good character their natural instinct is to stop, freeze, and become very introspective.
You call someone a “racist” and they are of good character then are going to check themselves.
Frankly there are a large number of ideologically captured folk who throw these highly serious and accusatory labels around in a bad faith manner for one reason or another, and British folk are a good mannered lot who are very vulnerable to this as a manipulative tactics.
So when one of these types of folks insists that you are an *ist or a *phobe or an are practising an *ism it makes a lot of sense to simply ask “why do you think that?” (Ask them to make these).
They made the claim so they should provide the reasoning. It’s only fair especially when the accusations are so serious.
The goal is to weigh the merits of the situation and ensure that everyone is playing it straight.
The awakening I discuss is in relation to this.
It’s late here and I tried my best so I hope I’m making sense 🤞 😀
As for Elon, I think he’s rarely misses the mark, and it’s been interesting to watch how his politics have changed over the years.
And honestly, I think the things that I would like are not that radical. Rule of law. Free speech. Education. Healthcare. Less taxes. Opportunity. Merit.
