On Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, history was made in Kibera Community, Nairobi. The collaborative effort between Mental 360 and @akili_bomba kili gave birth to the Community Wellness Center, officially launched amidst a vibrant and engaging community walk dedicated to raising mental health awareness and fostering community unity. 👣 Community Walk Highlights from strategic locations with historically high suicide cases: Traditional dance and role play in Mashimoni, spotlighting concealed mental health issues. Artistic mental health messages at Darajani, Gogo, and Equity at Ayany. Compelling performances and speeches at Kwa Reli and Olympic. A warm welcome at Sanctuary, featuring rap performances, a chief's speech, and a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony. 🤝 Key Contributors: The indispensable Mental 360 Team, for sharing expertise and resources on mental health. Akili Bomba team for orchestrating seamless organization and coordination throughout the launch. Dedicated Rafikis(Community Peer Champions) engaging with community members, providing invaluable support and information. The mesmerizing Rapala Dance Ensemble, adding cultural richness to the celebration. Active Kibera Community Members, making the event a genuine community celebration. Boda Boda Riders, crucial for logistical support during the walk. This transformative launch is a pivotal milestone in delivering psychological support to Kibera community members.
