Allowing students to “struggle” through the math brings out some of the best thinking! Today we did a number sense routine called “Convince Me That”… The thinking “proof” my students demonstrated made my math heart so happy! #middleschoolmath #lcpsmath

Over the past month, I was able to see the same Number Sense Routine across elementary grades. Kindergarteners combined groups of 3 and 4. In 2nd grade, many recognized it's showing 2 groups of 4 with 1 missing. And in 5th grade, students saw fractions and percentages! #LCPSmath

Today in Geometry, students were introduced to proofs through Uno by determining each step to get from the given card to the most recent card. What a way to use collective background knowledge to build on an often difficult concept! @JLSMS_Official #lcpsmath
