The attack occurred at approx 10:35 AM on Monday, May 4 in the fields behind the Red Lion pub, off Burnham Road in Latchingdon. A woman walking her dog was approached by two brown, boxer/mastiff-type dogs (one on a lead, one off). One dog attacked, leaving the woman injured too.

Small diversion on the bus to Maldon yesterday, just after Althorne we turned right along an even narrower lane via Mayland, so into Latchingdon by the side of the church. Burnham bus drivers take this sort of thing in their stride, so do us passengers!

Clothes shopping in Maldon yesterday. Scrumptious Chai and Vanilla cake in the Gnome Cafe before catching the bus home - Mundon, Latchingdon, Althorne, Southminster and then Burnham, where the driver turns the bus around and heads back to Chelmsford.

This day December 3rd (1971) A part time fireman, of Latchingdon, was remanded in custody after admitting five arson charges involving barns or strawstacks. He confessed as he wanted to ride on a fire engine and be recognised in his uniform. He was found guilty on 17 Dec.
