Last week, AKU’s Human Resources (HR) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) teams came together to host “AI in Action – Navigating Responsibly in an AI World,” bringing together hundreds of participants in person in Karachi, as well as online attendees from multiple countries.
The conference featured insightful perspectives from AKU leaders, including Navroz Surani (Vice-President HR), Salim Virani (Vice Provost, Research) and Shaukat Ali Khan (Advisor to the President for ICT), alongside distinguished external speakers Sohail Zindani (CEO & Founder, LearningMinds), Momina Moetesum (Head, Department of Software Engineering, NUST), Saad Kaliya (Partner, PwC Pakistan), Azhar Nawaz (CDIO, Fauji Fertilizer Company) and Ijlal Jafri (Group CIO, Martin Dow).
Through engaging discussions and real-world use cases, speakers explored how AI is reshaping organisations, careers and societies — and what it takes to adapt responsibly in a rapidly evolving landscape.
A big thanks to all speakers and participants for making this a thoughtful and impactful exchange! 🙏
