🖍️♻️ It's National Refill Day! ♻️🖍️
Today we're celebrating the power of refilling, reusing, and reducing waste – and our refillable glue sticks are a perfect example of how small changes can make a big difference.
Designed to help schools and educational settings reduce plastic waste, our refillable glue sticks offer a practical and sustainable alternative to single-use stationery. Simply replace the glue refill rather than throwing away the entire glue stick, helping to reduce waste while saving resources.
By making sustainable choices in the classroom, we can encourage children to develop environmentally responsible habits that will benefit future generations.
Join us this National Refill Day and discover how simple swaps can support a greener future for education. 🌱

At The Wishing Tree, we believe that learning is deeply connected to how children feel within their environment. 🌿
When children feel safe, valued, and supported, they are more engaged, confident, and open to exploring new ideas. Positive relationships with educators and peers create a strong sense of belonging, which is at the heart of effective early learning.
In line with EYLF principles, we focus on nurturing wellbeing, building secure relationships, and creating environments where children feel emotionally connected. These experiences support children to become confident, involved learners who carry these positive feelings into all areas of their development and future learning journeys. 🤍✨

As Toy Story 5 prepares to tackle the age-old battle of toys versus technology, @MonashUni's Professor Lisa Kervin AM says families don't need to choose sides.
The film's central conflict – traditional toys competing with a tablet for children's attention — reflects a debate many parents are having right now. But the evidence suggests it's not about toys or technology. It's about how children engage with both.
Professor Kervin argues that when used thoughtfully, digital tools and traditional play can work together to support children's creativity, communication and learning. Tablets can inspire storytelling. Toys can bring digital ideas into the physical world. The most powerful learning often happens when children move seamlessly between the two.
Rather than asking whether screens are replacing play, perhaps the better question is: How can we create richer opportunities for children to imagine, explore and connect?

What a busy start to the week! 🌟
We’ve been practising writing our word of the week, dog 🐶, talking about our family members, and creating self-portraits using different shapes. 🎨🔺🔵
We also attempted to bake another batch of egg-free cakes… although they didn’t quite go according to plan! 🤭🧁 Sometimes the best learning happens when things don’t turn out exactly as expected!
