On the ground here in LA, people are devastated, in shock, helping, or all of the above. My daughter goes to Palisades High, and it has been impacted so severely I'm still wrapping my head around it.
But she jumped into action. The students are organizing food and clothing drives, coordinating a spreadsheet of gofundmes for people affected. I'll drop those links as they come in.
If you see people stoking hate and fear and spreading disinformation, it’s because they have something to gain from it — maybe it’s ego, maybe it’s a payout from hate replies, maybe they’re morally bankrupt, maybe a bot.
Either way, know that most people on the ground are here for each other. We’re gonna get through this.
