Some of the most influential people in entertainment never appear on screen... but their impact can be felt for generations. Floyd Norman, one of Disney's first Black animators, will receive an honorary Oscar this November... recognizing a groundbreaking career that helped shape some of the most beloved films in animation history. After joining Disney in 1956, Norman helped bring classics like "Sleeping Beauty", "The Jungle Book", and "Toy Story 2" to life through a creative vision that continues to influence audiences decades later. While many may not know his name, countless people around the world have experienced the magic from his work. Long overdue, this honor recognizes a pioneer who helped expand what was possible for Black creatives in animation and entertainment. Floyd's journey is a reminder that some of culture's greatest contributions are made behind the scenes... and that those contributions deserve to be celebrated. #LetsDiscuss Why does it take so long for pioneers like Floyd Norman to be recognized for their impact? 🖤 Credit: Disney (@disney) Bryan Chan via Getty Images

What is your vision of Gen Z representation? How should Gen Z contribute and participate? Should they work like image-1, or work like image-2? #Genz #GenzOnPolitics #LetsDiscuss

Spelman College has named renowned roboticist, tech innovator, and former NASA engineer, Dr. Ayanna Howard as its 12th president. This isn’t just a leadership announcement. It’s a signal. When a Black woman who helped build the future of robotics steps into the presidency of one of our most historic HBCUs, the conversation expands. This is about access to new pipelines. Potentially new partnerships and capital. Spelman has always shaped leaders. Now it’s being led by one who understands science, strategy, and scale. Dr. Howard will assume her duties as president on August 1, 2026. Truthfully, this moment feels bigger than one campus. It feels like positioning. #LetsDiscuss Is this the kind of leadership that shifts funding, partnerships, and power for HBCUs? 🖤
