Upgraded my Linux yesterday (PopOS) and my Mic was all jacked up. Took me 2 hours of troubleshooting to fix for OBS, then jacked up my editor, had to manually add a pulse->alsa config to fix. Sound settings still shows broken, but really works... #LinuxOnTheDesktop

Yes, I just cannot get enough of configuring printers 🤦 How can it still be so hard to just print a piece of paper in 2022 on Linux😭 - ended up sending the doc to a windows PC, hit the print button, done #linuxonthedesktop
ALT Task Bar Context Menu for Printer icon: two options both called Configure Printers... one with a printer icon, one with a settings icon, one with a keyboard shortcut

Got a Mac mini M1 with a Linux VM running with UTM/qemu, added an iTerm profile that sets "ssh lunix@localhost -p 2222" as the default cmd instead of a shell and bound the profile to a hotkey. next: vscode over ssh #LinuxOnTheDesktop

State of #Linuxonthedesktop: Fedora's Gnome is more recent and works better than the one shipped with Ubuntu. Supports screensharing under wayland out of the box. I'm switching over; also remembering all the weird decisions Canonical are making (Unity? Notifications? Snap?)

So my desktop got an upgrade (first one since 2012). Tried for a few hours to get Windows 10 on it, but gave up. 2020 is the year of "Linux on the desktop" (for me!)

2019. The application that consumes the least resources in my #Linux system are #emacs and IBM Notes, while the plethora of DevOps, Agile tools produced by the “gig economy” plunder my CPU and RAM to the point of X dropping out.
Lots of emoticons though.

Aaand as you can see it cuts off abruptly at 2:20 because them's Twitter rules lol. I'm about 2/3 finished editing this and will release the full 3.5 minute video later this month. I proudly do all my video editing in @kdenlive on @kubuntu livin that #LinuxOnTheDesktop life 🖥️🚀
