Mr. Mugulwa, our Inspectorate Supervisor, together with myself, convened a comprehensive boardroom session aimed at reconciling the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the Community Development Officer (CDO) of Obongi District. Also conducted an inspection of the newly completed Lanyadyang Bridge now connecting Kitgum to Pader, unlocking trade, mobility & access to essential services. I had the honour of commissioning the UGX 428M Agule Livestock Market in Kumi a powerful step forward for over 500 livestock traders. After 15 years in makeshift shelters, farmers now have a modern facility with vet services, poultry cages, water sources & more. This market isn’t just infrastructure it’s a livelihood booster and value chain enabler. Under #LEGS, Kumi has also received the UGX 721M Kakuresi-Kamaca Road, UGX 1.2B Kanapa Water Scheme, Tisai Milk Centre, and tractors for 3 cooperatives. With 227 cows inseminated by trained AI technicians, rural transformation is happening backed by @isdb_group & @LLF_fund donors. Yesterday, I commissioned the Buseeta Milk Collection Centre in Kibuku a UGX 667M game changer for our dairy farmers under the @LLF_fund LEGS project. With a 6,000-litre cooler, generator & strong cooperative spirit, this Centre is more than storage it's a hub for value addition, animal health & innovation. Let’s empower youth, women, and improve breeds for higher yields. Women producing mineral blocks are inspiring value addition, and youth must tap into PDM & MSC funds to scale up. With milk now bought at UGX 1,050 and sold up to UGX 1,400, farmers are gaining fairly. I also call for a dairy training center to ensure long term sustainability.
