THE SECRETS OF WEST KENNET LONG BARROW Join me on a journey through West Kennet Long Barrow, one of Britain’s most remarkable Neolithic tombs. In this video, I take you: Through the calf-shaped entrance lintel stone, the hidden calf carving inside, and a third calf-like stone at the rear chamber. Past the two polissoir stones—ancient groove-etched polishing stones—that lie along the barrow’s interior. On a walk-around of the mound, where I name and celebrate the wildflowers blooming atop the tomb. View panoramic vistas that include the majestic Silbury Hill and the surrounding ancient landscape. Alongside a concise chronology of the monument—from its erection around 3600 BCE, through its ritual closure circa 2000 BCE, to its modern restoration and meaning. Accompanied by ambient music, this video offers a thoughtful exploration of stone, landscape, and spirit, inviting you to see West Kennet in a new light. If you enjoy this video, please like, share, and subscribe to support the channel. Don’t forget to leave a comment with your own thoughts and experiences at West Kennet or other ancient sites—you might inspire a future video! youtu.be/uKxzRA5srPA?si=UTHR… #WestKennetLongBarrow#NeolithicBritain#CalfLintel#Polissoirs#SilburyHill#MegalithicTomb#SacredLandscape#Wildflowers#StoneTempleGardening#AncientMysteries#NeolithicSpirituality#Avebury#LongBarrows

Pimperne Long Barrow near Blandford for #TombTuesday. The longest in Dorset and possibly in England. Barrow measures 100m along its axis and 27m at its broadest point. Thought to date from between 3500-4000BC. #longbarrows #neolithic #ancientbritain #dorset

My understanding is we are all from Germanic tribes, Celts were earlier, Anglo-Saxons in England later, but from the same German tribes. An interesting thing to note is look at standing stones, stone circles, dolmens, longbarrows. All form around 6000 years ago, you will find them all across Britain and Ireland, which suggest a common culture between us. Lanyon Quoit in Cornwall, England;

Let me put your mind at rest, my aim is to 1st build modern monuments and creative designs so that the people of Zimbabwe can enjoy such structures with a variety of applications (spiritual, social, tourism, private) Then train a few whilst doing so and hopefully inspire them to also train and push the boundaries of stonework so Zimbabwe can regain the title of some of the best in the world With regard to the academy I would need funding from an outside source to start that straight away or over time with the profits of my own builds with my own investment. To work on Zimbabwe’s monuments would be a dream for me as a passionate stonemason who has already helped reignited the LongBarrows of the UK But I feel very strongly that this should be mainly done “in house” by Zimbabweans (I fully understand the whole “why is a foreigner coming here touching our heritage”) This would be the long term goal that outsourcing talent isn’t needed and the masons I train go onto train the next generation of talent and so on and so on I don’t need the credit and I’ve said before if an investor came in and funded the academy I’d happily name it after them and give them all the credit I’m not a knight in shining armour, I’m just a very passionate very relentless, gifted stonemason who wants to leave the world knowing he made a positive change with his talent God will not ask to see my bank statements, he will ask me what I did with my gift….. I want to give a good answer

Sacred Geometry, Astronomy, Solar/Lunar, Solstice/Equinox Alignment are key in many ancient monuments. The alignment of Great Zimbabwe is something I’m very must interested in studying. (4 of the 6 LongBarrows I’ve built implemented solstice & equinox alignment)

Had a great trip to the longbarrows today with wife and doggo. Unfortunately spoiled somewhat when we spotted a group of "astronauts" and "engineers" in a rental van parked up on the grass (this isn't allowed). We went for a bite to eat and when we returned the van was gone but they'd left this all over the grass. As there was a bin less than 10 meters away it's easy to see why they're not welcome in rural communities.

STONEMASONS PLEASE JOIN @RealMzalaTom as he hosts Joby JR Wheatley tonight on X SPACES. @jobygunner1987 , Joby,a rock steady specialist in ancient monument stonework landed in Zimbabwe from the UK in 2022 on a mission to build world class monuments in Zimbabwe. I asked Joby why he chose Zimbabwe to showcase his craft in building world class monuments and he told me ; “My wife is Zimbabwean,but it was my decision to move as I had a very powerful dream one night telling me to move here (to Zimbabwe) 12 weeks later we sold everything and were in Harare. Now I have a purpose and that is to teach the next generation of Zimbabwean master masons and build world class monuments to encourage people to visit Zimbabwe.” Joby built 6 of the UKs modern LongBarrows (the 1st in 5000yrs ). I urge you, especially the youngsters interested in building a career on a rock solid foundation to tune in at 18:30 CAT live on Mzala Tom’s @RealMzalaTom X handle. #1MILLIONZIMSTONES

I am guessing this has something to do with the agricultural techniques of the people who made longbarrows favouring chalkland

A 3D map of Historic England records for long barrows on the Heritage Gateway website. Draped on geology. You can see how long barrows are mainly clustered on the chalk (light green). #Archaeology #Neolithic #DigitalArchaeology

Yes i clearly state they were wrong about lots and the only thing I say they were right about is longbarrows being pre IE. To clarify i do not believe in elf euhemerism and have repeatedly stated I oppose euhemerism

It doesn’t look like he is supporting the theory of dark squat-men, only that the longbarrows were built by a separate people to the roundbarrows. The people in his replies missed it too and are theorising about bizarre ancestors for no reason.

In his effort to prove that the fairies derive from racial memories of the "small-statured pre-Celtic race", folklorist David MacRitchie was determined to demonstrate that the focus of longbarrows in fairylore is due to their being of pre-Indo-European manufacture. 2/5

longbarrows were tombs for single elite families. everyone in them is related and shared the same beliefs. This is a completely different. Your ashes are placed next to those of total strangers of other families and the beliefs behind it are vague and inconsistent
