Bidding for one of the most significant Formula 1 cars ever offered closes tomorrow.
The 1991 McLaren MP4/6 chassis 01 is the very car that carried Ayrton Senna to his first home victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix, delivered through one of the most physically punishing and emotionally charged drives in Formula 1 history. Battling failing gears, rain, and complete physical exhaustion, Senna willed this car to the finish and into legend.
This is the first MP4/6 chassis ever built, the car Senna himself tested prior to the season, and the only MP4/6 to ever win a Grand Prix. It is also the final V12 powered, manual gearbox Formula 1 car to win a World Championship. Retained by McLaren for nearly three decades, fully recommissioned by McLaren Heritage, and recently inspected and run by Lanzante, it stands today as a living artifact of motorsport’s most revered era.
This is not simply a championship winning car. It is a defining moment in human performance, engineering, and sporting history preserved in carbon fibre. Tomorrow, the opportunity to own it comes to an end.
