Her expertise spans areas including health technology, nursing home operations, and cardiac care delivery. She leverages empirical methods and machine learning to tackle critical challenges in healthcare operations. Her work has been published in premier journals such as Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (MSOM), Production and Operations Management (POMS), Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Health Economics, and Information Systems Research, as well as high-profile interdisciplinary outlets like Science and Nature Scientific Reports.
Her research has garnered numerous awards, major research grants, and widespread media coverage, including features in Barron’s,

@Freakonomics , and Vox. She serves the academic community as an Associate Editor for Management Science, MSOM, and POMS, and currently leads as President of the Chinese Economists Society. In addition to her academic contributions, she has testified before the United States Senate (2023) and has mentored entrepreneurs as an Economist Mentor for the Creative Destruction Lab.
