This is not your call to make for 850 plus districts in IL for an optional (not high-stakes) assessment we have not seen yet. #MakeItLocalIL. You never answered my question about engaging practitioners statewide. Your silence gives me my answer. Process matters yet you ignore.

My question is can it be used for diagnostic/formative purposes IF a district wants. Otherwise this flies in the face of #MakeItLocalIL. The language needs work. I am still waiting on the answer how many educators working in schools have been engaged in this conversation.

Chad Watkins of @IllinoisASA sharing that the Illinois legislature added 100 new education laws this year. 100 in a decade is probably too many, but seriously folks, 100 in a year, this year, of all times? Just unbelievable and a ton of even more unfunded mandates. Yikes.

Yesterday I got to advocate for #MakeItLocalIL and tell the @Salem_HS story. We are following the mask mandate because our metrics dictate it, not @ISBEnews. We hope to have the same local control when our metrics indicate a different path.
