The marestail are horrible this year too. I’ve never seen so many

One weed on my allotment that drives me to distraction is marestail. If only it was edible I’d have a bumper crop every year. ☺️ The only way to keep it under control is pulling it up by hand which is literally a pain. #allotmentlife #gardening

Thank God broadleafs can't survive standing water and a hot sun. That's a insane amount of marestail for land that's been in rice

This zero grade didn’t have marestail before last years flood. Crazy what one river flood can do on weed pressure. Oh well, it’ll drown. 🌾

The sounds "snap, crackle, pop" may be most associated with breakfast cereal, but on a mid-September afternoon in west-central Missouri, it was weeds in a soybean field that were getting crispy. The marestail snapped, the cockleburs crackled and the pigweeds popped as Ben Kroeger delivered 15,000 volts of weed-killing current to those that dared to rise above the crop canopy. That’s why I also use chickweed, marestail, cheatgrass, and dead nettle in my mix.

Canada fleabane is spreading — and so is herbicide tolerance. Sairone maps fleabane/marestail populations across your fields using your enterprise drone (any brand), giving you species-level detection and density maps before resistance costs you yield. Know your fields. Plan smarter. ↓ kate@saiwa.ai #CanadaFleabane #PrecisionAg #Sairone #AgTech

Pigweeds and marestail say hold my beer. Wouldn't be shocked if they thrived on the moon

This one was planted the same day as the one pictured. We drilled it behind the pans in 2023 and it’s been no till rice since then. Looks a little junky with the marestail and winter junk but it’ll sort out.

I need Steve to eat all the marestail weed that is Roundup resistant in CA. We have too many coyotes here, so goats are unsafe.Bit I sure do admire them! 😤

Marestail control in soybeans starts early. Spring applications before bolting, along with residual herbicides and proper timing, are key for effective management. bit.ly/4bzr8Ql #kstateagronomy

#AgPhDRadioUpdate | Dicamba Burndown Will you be using dicamba in your burndown this spring? Dicamba as a burndown in front of XtendFlex won’t hurt the soybeans, but at this point it’s not technically labeled to spray immediately before or after spraying. However, we still think it will be labeled pre and post in XtendFlex by this spring. Dicamba is great on tough weeds including marestail, dandelion, pennycress, henbit, and almost any other emerged broadleaf. Here’s the biggest trick. Spray when it’s warm. We have used dicamba in the spring before when the temperature was in the 50’s, and you would have thought we sprayed nothing but water. Make sure the temperature is in the 70’s if at all possible for best success. In addition to that, we always like having a residual tankmix partner when you are doing a burndown. Dicamba has almost no residual, so it’s great to have something else in there to control weeds for weeks rather than just days.

Man this common groundsel is beginning to be like marestail was back in the day. Just stuff is just plum taking over! Gonna be a lot of PPO’s this spring burndown!

Critiques are welcome Kitchen sink approach. Never used dicamba in spring burndown, but didn’t get any fall burndown done and there’s quite a bit of henbit and marestail out there. Been doing quite a bit of Rup, 24d, and metribuzin burn down in past but want to switch it up.
