It is a great honor to announce the winners of the
@OfficialMoonDAO scholarships to participate in an upcoming space analog mission at the
@HabitatMarte Station Complex, located in the Brazilian semiarid region.
Selected through an international process that considered motivation, background, and potential contributions to analog astronaut research, the three scholarship recipients represent the truly global nature of the space exploration community.
🌍 Scholarship Winners
• Oscar O’Farrill (Mexico)
@ofa13
• Julia Fritz (Brazil)
• Sandali Kumarasinghe (Sri Lanka)
The scholarships were made possible through the support of MoonDAO, an international community-driven initiative dedicated to expanding access to space research and enabling broader participation in the future of space exploration.
The selected participants will join a multidisciplinary crew during a mission conducted at Habitat Marte, a pioneering research station that simulates the environmental and operational conditions of future missions to the Moon and Mars.
During the mission, the crew will conduct scientific and operational activities designed to simulate real challenges faced by astronauts. These include experiments in controlled environment agriculture, sustainability systems, habitat operations, team dynamics, and mission planning.
This initiative highlights the growing role of analog missions as platforms for innovation, education, and global collaboration in space exploration.
The partnership between MoonDAO and Habitat Marte demonstrates how international collaboration can expand opportunities and help prepare the next generation of space explorers.
