This is not a filmed video. This is @Meta Hyperscape. A hyper detailed 3D reconstruction which I captured with my #Quest3. The process is very easy and takes around 5-20 minutes. First, you capture the scene mesh. Then photograph the details. Finally the ceiling. I did multiple test scenes in different rooms and different lighting conditions. My learnings: * The brighter the better * Time spent on photographing pays of most. I slowly walk around to avoid blurring and take pictures from every position of the room in every direction. You feel a constant clicking in the right controller whenever a picture is taken. * Uploading took around 10 minutes for me each time * Calculation of the final gaussian splatting took around 2-5 hours In headset this loads in around 5 seconds, is super smooth and feels incredibly real. Imagine the future of hotel booking, flight seat reservation, restaurant seating etc. The applications are enormous. What #Meta did here is a wrapping a marvel of technology into such a great usability which impresses me deeply.
