Whether you want to or not, a web app at scale that is hosted on a public cloud will eventually start resembling a microfrontend. The moment you want an integration with a third party service or to process payments, you see this manifest as JavaScript that you have to load modularly into your app. The promise seems to be that microfrontends backed by a good granular permissions system of a dev team, and good organizational governance, will remain secure, even as talent rotates in and out of your org. The potential risks are that federated modules and import maps might need careful analysis of how trust and certificates propagate in your runtime. This is in an age when hardware keys are more important, with standards like Microsoft #Pluton, TPM 2.0, etc. Your opinions?

Building self-extensible software on the desktop is easy enough. Building it at the SaaS level is going to be harder, but it allows for some very interesting new patterns. Is there some startup that is going to provide the PaaS solution for companies looking to expose this capability? Really to enable self-extensibility into a SaaS, you'd need: - A coding agent service - A way to host a lot of small lambdas very cheaply - A way to integrate custom elements into the frontend I could imagine it looks like: - User talks to a unified agent service. - It builds the frontend/backend code and deploys it. - Backend runs in a lambda - Frontend is a microfrontend - Both get loaded for the user at runtime

What happens when microfrontend architecture meets AI coding agents? At DevTalks Romania 2026, meet Alexander Gรผnsche, Senior Solutions Architect at AWS, with his session: โ€œInterface Contracts in Event-driven Microfrontend Architectures - From Team Autonomy to Agentic Coding.โ€ As applications grow, the challenge isnโ€™t just scaling systems, itโ€™s keeping teams autonomous without creating architectural chaos. Alexander explores how contract-driven microfrontend design, event-driven patterns, and formal interface boundaries do more than help human teams collaborate. They may also be exactly what AI coding agents need to operate effectively. If youโ€™re thinking about modular systems, frontend evolution, or how AI changes software architecture, this is one to catch. ๐Ÿ“ Web Stage- Romexpo, B1 Pavilion. ๐Ÿ“… June 3โ€“4, Romexpo ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Tickets available now: bit.ly/4pGgZa9

How do I handle microfrontend SPAs in TSS? I deploy many SPAs separately and stitch together in a host app. Can this be done without unifying all in one app for TSS?

You can run Vercel's CDN in front of any app. We use it for our Discourse community. They back our forum, then the CDN gives us DDoS protection, bot management, and microfrontend support to build custom features and pages. Here's our setup โ†“ vercel.com/blog/how-we-run-vโ€ฆ

...and now people will do that on their component that is used to upload pdfs. Maybe they will also shove a microservice and a microfrontend while they're there.
