i'm not a big movie guy but I do think it's oddly fitting that Endgame was the capstone of the Marvel arc and was also the finale of our culture's shared media experience, the last movie you could talk about and expect a stranger to have also seen and be able to bond over.
and then marvel pivoted into the multiverse, where reality splinters and there's no pretense of a shared plot or experience, and it exactly mirrors real life where everyone is in their own little world asynchronously consuming personally tailored plotless tiktok and youtube microcontent there's real point of talking about.
