idk why my brain went mr2 but I was thinking the first gen tt was midengine. all the good r8 specs are taxed to fuck now. Would dare to say if you want the gated experience, lamborghini and ferrari are a more compelling buy these days.

This drives me nuts because it's so outside the whole point of the original Autobianchi A112 Runabout. It's meant to be cheap, midengine fun and became the X1/9, the OG of cheap midengine fun. Half a million dollars ain't it.

بعد سنوات من الشائعات، خرجت تويوتا أخيرًا بتأكيد رسمي: سيارة رياضية جديدة بمحرك وسطي قيد التطوير داخل علامة غازو ريسينغ. وكشف رئيس GR أن المشروع بالفعل في مرحلة الاختبارات الأولية، لكن الطريق لا يزال طويلا مع توقع أن موعد الإطلاق الأقرب سيكون في حدود 2030.
الأهم من السيارة نفسها هو القلب الذي سيحركها… محرك جديد كليًا باسم G20E، تيربو سعة 2.0 لتر بقوة مستهدفة تتجاوز 400 حصان، مع إمكانية الوصول إلى 600 حصان في النسخ المخصصة للسباقات. المحرك أصغر حجمًا وأكثر كفاءة بنسبة قد تصل إلى 30%، وسيكون بنظام هجين ليلائم منصات متعددة، لكن الترشيحات الأقوى تقول إنه مخصص للعودة الأسطورية لـ MR2. وإلى جانب ذلك، تويوتا تعمل بالتوازي على إعادة تطوير سيليكا، والتي دخلت مراحل متقدمة من الاختبارات.

I remember that very well.
Great idea.
I think they had to move the firewall forward.
And it was presented in Florida and Journos were only allowed to a maximum of 30 mph.
There 4.0/4.2 V8 would have fitted very well? I think there is nearly no market for a Diesel midengine Supercar.
Less drama, less emotion and nobody cares about fuel economy .
