How would you handle the food for a party that size??? Having lived in Europe several times while my husband served 21 yrs in the US Army I know what European kitchens are like, they're quite small.
Most of the Europeans I knew had their parties at restaurants. But what if you wanted to have the party at your home? Almost all home owners could not handle doing all the food & drinks themselves and have a party that size, that's why here in the USA we hire outside caterers.
Your idea of affluent is way off for the USA, most of these people work their butts off to pay their mortgage & living expenses. Most supposedly affluent people only have a nanny and maybe a housecleaning service and landscaping for grass & yard work, if they have that at all these days. Maybe they had to clean the house and do the yardwork for the party themselves and had no time left to prepare the food.
Since you are ruled by the unelected leader of the EU I guess I shouldn't expect you to know that Americans who are considered 'affluent' are not wealthy. They are hardworking middleclass taxpayers who never had servants. My husband & I have to have aides these days since we are very elderly which is digging deep into our retirement accounts, but we've never had servants.

🔥 Jeremy Clarkson had a fiery clash with BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire at the farmers’ protest against Reeves’ inheritance tax raid on family farms.
Victoria went straight for the gotcha:
“So it’s not about you, it’s not about your farm and the fact you bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax?”
Clarkson, visibly stunned:
“Classic BBC there, classic. The ‘fact’ that I bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax? The ‘fact’?”
Victoria doubled down: “You told The Sunday Times in 2021 that’s why you bought it?”
Clarkson, laughing in disbelief:
“These people… BBC. Let’s start from the beginning. I wanted to shoot. That’s even worse to the BBC. Which comes with the benefit of not having to pay inheritance tax.”
He pointed out the tax isn’t even an issue for him personally as he can simply put the farm in a trust, but he’s standing with ordinary family farms that will be hammered.
After sparring over the real numbers affected, Clarkson urged the government to U-turn.
Victoria: “And get the money from where?”
Clarkson: “Walk into any of the offices around here and if you don’t understand what somebody’s job is, fire them.” 😂
