✨ Did you know? This is not just a peaceful old video. It’s a window into the last civilization on earth that successfully ran a decentralized, multi-law system. Under the Ottoman millet system, Muslims, Jews, Christians — all lived under their own laws, their own courts, their own leaders. Not forced into one-size-fits-all systems. Not crushed by nation-state centralization. The Ottoman Empire wasn’t perfect, but it was the last major power where different communities kept their own legal identities and coexisted in the same cities. After 1917, with colonial borders and modern nation-states, the world turned to centralized laws — and the balance shattered. 👉 Jerusalem 1897: a glimpse into a world that once knew how to manage diversity without erasing it. #AlQuds #Palestine #OttomanEmpire #MilletSystem #MultiLaw #Decentralization
