I think the first time I watched this was on MonsterVision, hosted by Joe Bob Briggs.
Swamp Thing (1982) Who remembers this?

I’ve been waiting for years and was so excited to see @therealjoebob and @kinky_horror in Denver. Devastated that I won’t be able to make it after a car accident earlier this week. Luckily I have some MonsterVision to keep me company. Love you guys, pls come back to Denver!

If you're desperate, there's a VHS rip of the Monstervision episode cleverly hidden on the Internet Archive.

My understanding is that Ted was responsible for Monstervision because he remembered all the channels back in the day having a horror movie host (or something like that)
This might genuinely be the only time I've ever seen a cartoon creator mourn the loss of a billionaire. Ted Turner must've been awesome

I'm thinking about something from The Lost Drive-In Patreon. A love an old MonsterVision episode! Maybe The Fly?

I’ll never forget when Ted stalked your entire production staff during the Friday the 13th from dusk til dawn marathon on MonsterVision. Man knew how to operate.

If it wasn't for Ted Turner, I wouldn't know Joe Bob Briggs and MonsterVision, I wouldn't have experienced the Monday Night Wars of wrestling, classic films on TCM and watch the programs of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. RIP Mr. Turner
Ted pre-recorded a video of soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines standing in front of the Techwood studios and performing an instrumental version of "Nearer, My God, To Thee," to be aired by CNN at the moment the world ends. That says it all.

Exactly! I was thinking earlier about how there wouldn't have been Monstervision without him creating TNT!

Turner Classic Movies debuted in the 90’s when I was a kid. It taught me a whole new film language & shaped my sensibilities as a filmmaker. Add in Cartoon Network and MonsterVision with Joe Bob Briggs on TNT and you have 1/2 of my cultural upbringing. RIP Ted Turner.

As long as we're posting favorite Turner programs, Dinner and a Movie always has a special place in my heart. Pun based dishes, quirky hosts and movies I definitely should not have been watching as a kid. Up there with Joe Bob Briggs' Monstervision youtube.com/watch?v=ObiOBPRf…

Without Ted Turner you don't have Cartoons/Animation running on 24 hour blocks. This man literally gave us Cartoon Network. Bought Hanna Barbera, Looney Toons/MGM Classics. Co-created Captain Planet. Gave TBS, World Championship Wrestling. TNT had MonsterVision. RIP GOAT. πŸ™
RIP Captain
