Visiting Russia 🇷🇺 as a foreigner is logistically a NIGHTMARE No Visa No Mastercard No Amex No international transactions from EU/US to the country... but it doesn't have to be! This week i got the welcome package with the friends over at @MoveToRussiaCom They picked me up at the hotel (which they suggested) with nice a BMW In 4 hours, we did: - Social Security Number - Russian E-gov system setup - eSim number - Bank account opening - Debit card issuance This provides a few international diversification benefits: -> Ruble and Chinese Yuan balances -> MIR Flag cards, usable in Russia, Belarus, Central Asia, Iran, China, Cuba and, most interesting to me, Venezuela In my last trip to Venezuela, almost none of my cards worked and I needed to use crypto/zelle. I think this is one of the most startling and tragic statistics I have seen. Only 12% of 30 year olds are married and own a home. Marriage, family, and home ownership are the ultimate trifecta of security and happiness. I hope this trajectory can be reversed.
