It'd probably be "haruten fatigue" (new schedule bs) and/or "pace too fast" (bc Takarazuka start is going downhill iirc and also Mysway and Kuranda might put more pressure on the pace).
But it's JP fans (and JP Croix fans), so they ofc blame it on Kitamura no matter what...

i don't know if he'd win if he tried again (probably podium finish), but... it's worth sending matsumoto and mysway to more G1 races and see what happens.

exactly, ikze wasn't going to let him go easily... i saw soleil move up and was worried about mysway, since he can be sensitive... but he didn't give up. i think matsumoto believing in mysway and how he wants to run instead of holding him back was a big part of his huge run

This is the reason why he lost his two previous starts before Haruten. He can escape freely.
There is some worry about his distance limit. Other horse strategy probably just let him escape because MysWay will run out of stamina. Which most likely to happen.

Take not go fast enough early. In uma term he fail to proc groundwork.
At this point I know it's already over for Tabaru. He also can't take the lead or draft behind Mystery Way because of Cosmo Kuranda marking MysWay hard.

i'm someone who has rooted for tabaru since 2024 classics, before anyone believe he was anything but a joke horse, but romance and story attached aside he's just not built for arima. he had a small chance until mysway came in. he's going to lose the chance to pace and fade out
