Interesting framing. The gap is measured in GW of firm clean capacity that doesn't yet exist. Fervo, TerraPower, NETPower are the pilots that determine whether clean compute at scale is mid-2030s or stays aspirational.

Fervo, TerraPower, NETPower are proving diverse portfolios actually get built. That's the real victory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The costly problem is climate change. We have to face up to it and fix it first. It is easy to do with Natural gas. Just generate electricity in a NETPower plant. They work or generate hydroelectricity, wind or solar. It’s much cheaper. There is no planet other than Earth that supports life.

The truth is you can make electricity from natural gas economically viable using a NETPower plant like the one already operating in La Port, Houston Texas. It has almost no carbon dioxide emissions and its byproducts are valuable liquid carbon dioxide for geothermal and carbon fibre and graphene for strengthening concrete. Pure water is another byproduct that is in high demand. The oil and gas industry ignores this system for some unknown reason.

is the a way of genersting electricity from natural gas without polluting the atmosphere.in a NETPOWER PLANT Answer: Yes, there is a way to generate electricity from natural gas with minimal pollution, and a NET Power plant is a great example of this. NET Power uses a technology called the Allam Cycle, which combusts natural gas with pure oxygen to produce electricity. The unique aspect of the Allam Cycle is that it captures all the carbon dioxide (CO2) produced during the combustion process, preventing it from being released into the atmosphere. In this process, the captured CO2 is used as a working fluid to drive the turbine, which helps maintain efficiency. Any excess CO2 can be stored underground or used commercially. This makes NET Power plants a cleaner alternative to traditional natural gas power plants, addressing environmental concerns while generating electricity efficiently. If you're interested in exploring more about how NET Power plants operate or advancements in cleaner energy technologies, feel free to ask!

$CEG Attached is page 1 of a 12-page Bank of America analyst report on CEG issued today entitled: "Watt’s the Numbers for Constellation and Talen Energy" Bank of America has a 'Buy' rating on CEG with a $354 price target. Bank of America's summary statement regarding CEG in the report includes the following: “CEG: PO to $354 and Update EPS: We reiterate our Buy rating on Constellation Energy (CEG). We raise our PO to $354 from $343 as we update our EPS estimates and adjust our peer group multiple. We adjust our EPS estimates as we mark-to-market power prices, adjust stock buybacks, and update the stock buyback price. We also adjust the capacity auction revenue based on the results for the 2026/2027 auction. This updates our FY’25/FY’26/FY’27 EPS estimates to $9.31/$10.37/$13.03 from $9.29/$10.36/$12.92 per share. CEG: Q2’25E $1.97; Call: Datacenters, Calpine: We expect CEG to report Q2’25 EPS of $1.97/share, which is above consensus expectations of $1.88/share and Q2’24 results of $1.68/share. Earnings year over year will benefit from higher power prices partially offset by compensation cost increases, roll-off of NJ ZECs, and losses on PTC earnings due to realizing higher power prices. The call will likely focus on datacenters, AI-driven demand, the Calpine acquisition, and power prices. We expect commentary about future deals, and while we do not believe we will receive any new disclosures, it will be interesting to hear how the company responds to the new “bring your own generation” (BYOG) concept. We also expect discussion of Calpine’s expected Q4’25 closure and the DOJ process now that FERC approval has been received. We also expect commentary on power prices in terms of energy and capacity prices, especially with the recent price cap clearing. -- Price Objective Basis: Our $354 price objective is based on a relative 2027 P/E multiple methodology. We apply our 2027 electric utility and independent power producer (IPP) multiple of 17.2x, we gross this up by 5% to 18.1x reflecting sector capital appreciation. We then take the multiple and apply a 6% premium for every 1% higher growth CEG has versus utility peers using our base case EPS forecast. The average utility growth is 5 - 7%, so we take the growth rate at 6%, the midpoint. CEG's growth rate is 13% through 2030, which leads to a 50.4% premium and a valuation multiple of 27.2x. -- Risks to achievement of the price objective are: 1) changes in energy, capacity, and related commodity prices, 2) retail margins, renewals, win rate, & overall market share, 3) operating, capital, and fuel costs, 4) capital allocation decisions including M&A, growth, and share repurchases, 5) nuclear operational performance, incidents, or accidents, 6) legislative, judicial, tax, and regulatory changes broadly, 7) nuclear fuel costs & availability, 8) change in environmental standards for generation assets, 9) management turnover, 10) pension & nuclear decommissioning trust returns, 11) credit rating agency requirements, 12) interest rates, and 13) NetPower ownership & valuation. First, geothermal is not going to keep you from freezing if temperatures are below -15C regularly. And solar isn't enough to run auxiliary electric heaters, certainly at night. NETpower - trying keeping warm with a theory. The best solution we have available right now is nuclear, but that takes time to build.
