🚨🇧🇩🔱 During the 1971 war the Bangladesh Naval Commandos destroyed or disabled a total of 126 foreign and Pakistani warships and merchant marine assets using mines and explosives. This led to the destruction of thousands of tonnes of military and logistical supplies, and more over it helped squeeze the enemy further. The combat proven and experienced naval commandos of Bangladesh existed even before the birth of Bangladesh making it one of the few instances in the world. Today the forerunners of the naval commandos are the SWADS, a force that has been trained in line with the same standards and doctrine of the Republic of Korea Navy SEAL/UDT and the US Navy SEAL forces.
