AI Coins aren’t dead. At least the good ones. Crypto thrives by piggybacking on mainstream tech narratives. Case in point @decentraland. In late 2020, the metaverse narrative was built over the NFT momentum. My then-employer @NetObjex had me scout for the best $LAND —we bought a plot for $15K, which felt insane. Then @facebook rebranded to @Meta inOct 2021, and boom—MANA surged from < $500M to $7B market cap. The top signal came when @jpmorgan opened a lounge in Decentraland in 2022. With no real products to use or updates to sustain the hype, the metaverse narrative faded from the news cycle. Now, crypto is riding the AI wave. Small AI speculation cycles have already followed mainstream news. The peak will likely come when we see traditional players entering DeFi dabble into DeFAI agents and Reply Bots. Till AI is in the news cycle, we gon keep running. History always rhymes - crypto mirrors the mainstream until the hype fades.
