The security crisis in Northern Nigeria is heartbreaking. Everyday people are being left to face bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists completely on their own, while our political leaders play games with human lives.
There is too much blame shifting between the State Governors and the President. The Governors say, "We don't control the army or the police, so our hands are tied." They hide in bulletproof cars while innocent villagers are left to die.
Meanwhile, the President sits far away in Abuja.
Instead of real action, the government just sends out press releases condemning the attacks. They order military sweeps, but the bandits always come back as soon as the soldiers leave.
The truth is, there is a total lack of willpower to fix this. Governors receive massive amounts of cash every month called security votes. This money is meant to protect the people, but nobody knows where it actually goes.
Worse, leaders keep trying to negotiate with these criminals by giving them money and amnesty. This didn't bring peace. it just turned kidnapping into a highly profitable business.
How long will the North be left to suffer? We must keep speaking out and refusing to stay silent. Our leaders need to stop passing the buck and start protecting our lives.
Who will answer for the dead?
